Dice, Red, Cubes, Die, Shapes, Two
Golf for the Thursday's seniors golf, wound up on Aug 31 this year as the weather in past September's has been rainy and cold.
The sun was out and the temps were about 10 c at tee off and climbed to 23 c by the time play was finished after 18 holes.
12 players signed up for the day's outing, the 4 lowest handicap golfers each picked two players names out of  hat to form the teams.
The format for the day was "roll the dice" .each player is assigned a number from 1 to 3 and #4 was a roll over, # 5(happy face, take the best ball) #6 (sad Face, take the worst ball.) Each Player hits their Drive off the tee and then the Dice is rolled to see which drive would be used.
From that point on each player hit from the spot which was the best position on the fairway or green.
The team of Wayne Thomas, Ed Kennedy and Richard Lampi had the best luck with the dice and ended  with a 74 on the day.
Ray Laquerre, Gary Ladouceur and Pete Barna followed with a score of 76, with one birdie on  Hole #13.

Is a hole in one the same as an Eagle on a par 3 ?

The last day in January proved to be a good one for Gerry Busch,
She hit a nice shot right into the cup on the first hole of her round.
This feat was witnessed by her playing partners of the day, Don Reisberg, Bill Stewart, Richard Lampi and Doug Mazur.
This is Gerry's second "Hole in one" on the cottonwood golf course,
her other Ace was scored on Hole # 4.
Gerry now has the distinction of being the first golfer from the LaCopa group to score 2 aces.
Others from the Group who have got a hole in one are Gary Cook, Sid Bina, Joyce Foy
They all belong to a very exclusive club.
For those who are interested, she was using a seasoned, Pinnacle 3, and used it for the rest of the round.
just goes to show you that you don't need a high priced ball.
The Golf course at Cottonwood is in the best shape that it has been in many years, thanks to all of the volunteers who donate their time. it sure is reflected in the shape of the course.

La Copa mixed Seniors golf group

17 players took part in the Friday league with 6 more golfers who just arrived this week.
The format this week was 'roll the Dice' . Each player hits the ball off the tees , if they are playing as a threesome, each player is assigned 2 numbers off the dice.
When someone rolls the dice and the number showing on the Die will determine who's shot is played.
From that point on everyone plays the best ball. This repeats on every hole.
On a four player teams each player is assigned a number 1 through 4, and if those numbers turn up
then that is the ball played.
If the number 5 turns up they play the best ball, if the number 6 turns up then they play the worst ball.
From there everyone plays the best ball.
This week there were 5 teams.
Red team---- Bev Guadagnolo, Duane Miller, Jo LaCore and Don Reisberg.
White team-- Harry LaCore, Dan Luensmann, Dorothy Kline and Doug Mazur
Blue team--- Fred Kline, Bob Martintoni and Keith Bess
Pink team-----Bill Stewart, Joyce Foy and Dee Martintoni
Green team--Gerry Busch, Tony Gaudagnolo and Richard Lampi.
The White and Pink teams both turned in 29s to tie for the weekly Honors.
The Red and Green teams both turned in 30s to take second place.
The Blues shot a 32 having turned in the only 5 on the day, this coming on the tough 5th hole.
Despite of all the valiant efforts of all the golfers no one could get a Birdie.
