golfing in the fall

October golf Late fall sees the golf coarse in great shape with the greens nice and plush, grass likes the cool damp weather. It is a far cry from the spring when the winter kill made it look loke the greens would never come back but given enough time and tender loving care they did, but it was the first part of Septrmber before that was accomplished.

Two men ran out to the course for a quick nine after work. They get to the tee and see two ladies playing ahead of them.

One of the men complains that the ladies will slow them down and says he is going to ask if they can play through. He goes halfway to the ladies and turns back.

The other man asked what was wrong. The man said, "I can't go up there that's my wife and my mistress."

So the other man says he will go. He goes halfway and comes back. His partner asked what happened and the man replied, "Small world, huh?"

Dentist in a small town

Is he a good dentist?

A couple of old guys were golfing when one said he was going to Dr. Taylor, the only Dentist in town, for a new set of dentures in the morning.

His friend remarked that he had gone to the same dentist a few years before.
 "Is that so?" the first said. "Did he do a good job?"

"Well, I was on the course yesterday when the fellow on the ninth hole hooked a shot," he said. 
"The ball must have been going 200 mph when it hit me in the stomach. 
That," he added, "was the first time in two years my teeth didn't hurt."

cold weather golfing

If you have been golfing the last few days in any part of the country you may have run into some cold weather.

We were out today playing a short par 27, 9 hole course, with the wind blowing from the  northwest  at about 10 miles per hour and the temp  at about 46 degrees.

The ball did not carry very well in the cold, and it was hard to swing at the ball with the extra sweaters and windbreakers we had to wear. Sure wished that I had a pair of gloves to  wear. Golf gloves are not very warm!

We had the coarse all to ourselves as there were no other that were crazy enough to play in that kind of weather.  We did enjoy the round as we were dressed well for it.
The greens were fast in the cold and the scoring was high :-)
